It has been determined that a reduction in force is necessary as a result of the following financial reasons: (Please describe the specific monetary situation that forms the basis for this request, i.e., loss of grant funds, budget cuts, reduced earnings, reorganization, etc.)
Accordingly, we have examined our current work force and force ranked all individuals based on the following criteria:

The individuals listed below are being laid off and will be given appropriate notice based on total length of state service. The target date of the notice for the employees is indicated as well as the last day worked for the employees being laid off.

We understand that once you have approved this action, we must submit Personnel Action transactions within the PeopleSoft system.
I would like to request that representatives from Human Resources be available at a specific time on (designated date) to discuss with these individuals benefits issues, any available job opportunities within the UTHSC-H and the policy and procedure involved should they wish to apply any available position.
These decisions were very difficult and based solely on legitimate business-related factors. I very much appreciate your consideration of this request. Please call if you need additional information.
